The restoration of 531 FOF was completed over a three month period which included the removal of the body to paint the chassis and component parts to get the car ready for the summer season of 2009.
Before the restoration
The Scootacar was in poor condition but had been in storage for some 25 years before the restoration was started in April 2009.
The first steps were to remove the body and asses what work was required.
This included completing a list of missing or replace broken parts, like windscreen, lights, door hinges, door handle and the all important chrome accessories.
531 FOF was originally red, but the current owner Mark Boyd decided on the pastel blue colour.
Next steps
The underneath had been restored some 25 years ago but was in need of some attention.
The body was removed and work began.
The finished Scootacar
It has only just passed it's MOT and running fine, with the exception of a charging issue.
